# Pixel2Prompt

> Pixel2Prompt is a Chrome extension that turns any image — a photo, a screenshot, a presentation slide, or a selected area of a web page — into an AI image-generation prompt, into the readable text visible inside that image, or into both at once.

Four ways to start a capture: right-click an image on any page and choose "Analyze image", upload a file, paste an image URL, or draw a selection around part of the screen. The result opens in the Chrome side panel, where it can be copied, translated into another language, and kept in history.

The extension analyzes still images, not video streams. To capture words shown during playback or on a slide, take a screenshot while the text is visible and pass that screenshot to Pixel2Prompt.

Prompt output has four styles: detailed (rich visual detail for recreating an image), short (fast creative direction), structured, and custom.

Two billing modes. With the built-in Pixel2Prompt provider each analysis spends credits from a prepaid balance. Connect your own API key instead — OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, OpenRouter, or a custom endpoint — and Pixel2Prompt charges no credits at all; your own provider bills you under its own pricing.

Credit packages are 100 for $2, 300 for $5, 500 for $9, 1000 for $15, 3000 for $30, and 5000 for $50. Everything happens on the top-up page: sign in with Google or an emailed link, see your balance, buy a package, or redeem a coupon code. Checkout is handled by Polar as Merchant of Record and accepts cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and local methods such as iDEAL.
