Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Pixel2Prompt Chrome extension and the pixel2prompt.com website collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Service described in our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we process your email address and authentication details through our sign-in provider (email one-time code or Google sign-in). We use this to create and secure your account and to link your credit balance to you.
Images and content you submit
When you analyze an image, screenshot, or selected page area, that image and any related instructions are processed to produce a prompt or text. This is the core function of the Service and only happens when you choose to run an analysis.
Credits and transactions
We keep records of your credit balance and credit usage. If you make a purchase, our payment providers process your payment and share limited transaction details (such as confirmation and amount) with us; we do not store your full card number.
Technical and usage data
We may process limited technical data — such as app version, coarse usage events, and error information — to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3. How your images are processed
To generate a result, the image you submit is sent to an AI provider for analysis:
- In built-in provider mode, the image is transmitted through the Pixel2Prompt provider to complete the analysis and return a result.
- In your own provider mode, the image is sent to the AI provider you selected, under that provider's terms and privacy policy.
We use your images to provide the requested result. We do not sell your images, and we do not use your images to train our own models. AI providers process data under their own policies; we encourage you to review them. Do not submit images or text you are not permitted to share.
4. Your own AI provider
If you connect your own AI provider, your API key is stored locally in your browser's extension settings on your device and is used to send your requests to that provider. In this mode, your inputs go to your chosen provider under its policies, and your usage may be visible in your provider account.
5. Local history and storage
Your result history — previous images, prompts, and text results — is stored locally on your device using the browser's extension storage. You can clear this history from within the extension or by removing the extension. Local history stays on your device and is not a copy we hold on our servers.
6. Payments
When payments are available, they are handled by third-party payment processors (such as Stripe and PayPal). Those processors collect and process your payment details directly under their own privacy policies. We receive confirmation and limited transaction information needed to add credits to your balance and keep records.
9. Data retention
We keep account, credit, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Images submitted for analysis are processed to return a result and are not retained by us as a long-term library; AI providers handle any retention on their side under their own policies. Local history remains on your device until you remove it.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- clear your local result history from the extension at any time;
- disconnect your own AI provider or remove your stored API key in the extension settings; and
- request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us.
To exercise your rights, contact us at support@pixel2prompt.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
14. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us at support@pixel2prompt.com.
