1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pixel2Prompt Chrome extension, the website at pixel2prompt.com, and related services (together, the "Service"). By installing, signing in to, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.
2. The service
Pixel2Prompt is a browser extension that turns images, screenshots, and selected areas of a web page into AI-generated prompts or readable text. It can also translate results and keep a local history of your results. The Service analyzes the images you submit; it does not record or process live video.
The Service can run in two modes:
- Built-in provider. Requests are processed through the Pixel2Prompt provider and consume credits from your balance.
- Your own provider. You connect a supported AI provider (such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, OpenRouter, or a custom endpoint) using your own API key. In this mode Pixel2Prompt does not charge credits, and your provider's own pricing, limits, and terms apply.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
3. Accounts and eligibility
Some features require an account. Authentication is handled through our sign-in provider using an email one-time code or a Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and account secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
4. Credits and payments
Credits are used only with the built-in Pixel2Prompt provider. Each visual analysis consumes credits from your balance. You can add credits through the top-up page when payments are available.
- Payments, when enabled, are processed by third-party payment providers (such as Stripe and PayPal). We do not store your full card details.
- Prices, package sizes, and credit costs may change. Any change applies to purchases made after the change takes effect.
- Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money.
- Except where required by law, purchases are final. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will review the matter in good faith.
You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchases, unless we are required to collect them on your behalf.
5. Your own AI provider
If you connect your own AI provider, you are responsible for your API key and for complying with that provider's terms. Your API key is stored in your browser's extension settings on your device. When you use your own provider, your inputs are sent to that provider under its terms and privacy policy, and any charges are billed by that provider, not by us.
You are responsible for keeping your key confidential. Do not enter a key you are not authorized to use.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break any applicable law or regulation, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- capture, extract, or process images or text you do not have the right to use, including private, confidential, or copyrighted material;
- generate or distribute unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive content;
- attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent security, rate limits, credit accounting, or authentication;
- reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the Service or overload our systems; or
- use the Service in a way that violates a third-party website's terms.
You are solely responsible for the images and other content you submit and for how you use the results.
7. Your content and outputs
You keep whatever rights you already have in the images and content you submit ("Inputs"). As between you and us, you are responsible for your Inputs and for the prompts and text the Service produces from them ("Outputs"), subject to the terms of any AI provider you use.
You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service — for example, to transmit your Inputs to the selected AI provider so it can return a result. We do not claim ownership of your Inputs or Outputs. AI-generated Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for reviewing them before relying on or publishing them.
The Service software, website, branding, and design are owned by Pixel2Prompt and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or software beyond ordinary use of the Service.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including AI providers, the Chrome browser and Web Store, authentication and analytics providers, and payment processors. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not control their availability, pricing, or output.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any prompt, translation, or recognized text will be accurate or suitable for your purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pixel2Prompt and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, or USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and remove the extension at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and these general provisions — will survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
